Each year, the Pikeland Public Schools Foundation awards the following scholarships to past and current graduates of Pittsfield High School. Scholarship decisions are based on student financial need, scholastic abilities, leadership qualities, service to school and community, dignity of character, and desire to further one’s education. Scholarships may be used to attend colleges, universities, trade schools, and technical or vocational schools. Delores Cox Nursing Scholarship

The Delores Cox Nursing Scholarship is presented in memory of Delores Cox to a PHS senior choosing to pursue a career in nursing.

Emma Reinhardt Scholarship

The Emma Reinhardt Scholarship is made possible through a generous bequest from Emma Reinhardt.

Friends of Agriculture Scholarship

The Friends of Agriculture Scholarship was initiated with funds donated to support students in FFA and is presented to a PHS senior that is involved in FFA and best exemplifies the qualities of the FFA.

Gary and Linda Woods Academic Scholarship

The families of Greg, Tadd, Megan and Kendra Woods, graduates of Pittsfield High School, established an academic scholarship to honor Gary and Linda Woods.  Gary taught math at the high school before moving into administration and retired after 42 years in Pikeland Community Unit #10 School District. Linda, like Gary, was always involved with youth in our community.  She operated a home day care until her children were in school and then became secretary at East School and South Elementary School for nineteen years and continues volunteering at South Grade school after retiring.

Helen Harman Scholarships

The Harman Scholarship is made possible through a generous bequest from Miss Helen Harman, who had a long career as a history teacher at Pittsfield High School and was a very community-oriented individual.

Katherine Lovell Harper Scholarships

The Katherine Lovell Harper Scholarship Fund was established in 2012 via a generous donation from Robert H. and Katherine P. Harper. The Lovell family settled in Pittsfield in the 1800s. Katherine graduated from Pittsfield High school in 1941 and the University of Texas in 1945.

Stickman Scholarship

The Stickman Scholarship is made possible by a generous donation from Ray and Marian Stickman who moved to Pittsfield in 1975 after retiring from farming. Stickman Scholarships are awarded to deserving Pittsfield High School graduates attending Illinois institutions of higher education.

Tom Johnson Memorial Scholarship

The Tom Johnson Memorial Scholarship is presented in memory of Coach Tom Johnson to a PHS senior.

Wally Groom Agricultural Scholarship

The Wally Groom Agricultural Scholarship was established by the family of Wally Groom to honor his memory while supporting agricultural education.
